Eric Besson : “Je n’ai pas fait le jeu du Front national”

Après avoir lancĂ© le dĂ©bat controversĂ© sur l’identitĂ© nationale, Eric Besson s’est fait plus discret. Le ministre de l’immigration, de l’intĂ©gration et de l’identitĂ© serait-il en disgrâce, obligĂ© de se brider ? Il nie et repart Ă  l’offensive : “C’est le tabou et non le dĂ©bat qui entretient les mauvais instincts”, assure-t-il en annonçant la tenue d’un colloque le 8 avril.

On ne vous entend plus. Vous ĂŞtes en quarantaine depuis le dĂ©bat manquĂ© sur l’identitĂ© nationale ?

Pas du tout, j’ai participĂ© Ă  plusieurs rĂ©unions publiques, j’Ă©tais mercredi 3 mars en Isère, je serai mardi 9 en Alsace et en Lorraine aux cĂ´tĂ©s de Xavier Bertrand. Etant plus prĂ©sent dans les rĂ©unions locales depuis quinze jours, je me suis moins exprimĂ© au niveau national.

Teabagging the Nation – A Patriotic Pursuit

On February 10, Sarah Palin tweeted a public birthday greeting to Glenn Beck: “Happy B’day Glenn Beck! Ah, the wisdom of our elders…” Apart from the feigned folksiness of the word “B’day” and the astonishing attributing of wisdom to Glenn Beck, the tweet primarily declares an attempted strategic alliance. Self-professed “rodeo clown” Glenn Beck soon reciprocated by suggesting one of the few strategic alliances described by the American Constitution: “Happy belated birthday to my younger friend Sarah. Let’s just have a combined party in 2013, to save the WH pastry chef some work.” So, however jokingly it may have been put forth, we now have the proposition of a Palin/Beck ballot in 2012.

This twittering mating game may not disclose actual political plans and aspirations on behalf of Glenn Beck but Palin has declared herself ready and willing if not rough and ready, she has publicly cuddled up to elderly wisdom, and the wise old man is apparently going along as far as the ride will take him. Both twitterers seem to be flaunting blatant political opportunism in a giddy, frivolous manner indicating that whatever they are doing, it is working.

Burqa : le “New York Times” accuse Sarkozy d’”attiser la haine”

Le grand quotidien amĂ©ricain New York Times s’est invitĂ© mercredi dans le dĂ©bat sur l’interdiction du voile intĂ©gral en France, accusant le gouvernement français d’”attiser la haine” dans un Ă©ditorial intitulĂ© “Les talibans applaudiraient”.

“Il est facile de voir que les droits des femmes sont violĂ©s quand un gouvernement leur ordonne de dissimuler leur corps sous un voile entièrement couvrant“, Ă©crit le quotidien new-yorkais dans un Ă©ditorial au ton très offensif. “Il devrait ĂŞtre aussi facile de voir la violation quand une commission parlementaire française recommande [...] l’interdiction des services publics, dont les Ă©coles, les hĂ´pitaux et les transports publics, aux femmes qui portent ces voiles“, poursuit le texte.

Comme de nombreux titres de la presse internationale, le Los Angeles Times est allĂ© assister Ă  un dĂ©bat sur l’identitĂ© nationale dans une prĂ©fecture.
